For conference weekend we stayed at Shaun's family cabin. This was our first time sleeping somewhere else since Carson came into our family. I've always been the type to pack more then I need, now I think I'm ten times worse with a kid! I guess it's always good to be prepared, even if we could have lasted a week or more on the mountain. Since we have the newest baby we got to have our own room in the basement! This was great since I was worried about Carson keeping everyone up at night. If any of you know me well, you know I worry. I guess that's just who I am, but I think having a baby intensifies it. At night Carson's bassinet is usually by my side of the bed, that way I can check on him throughout the night (I probably check on him more then I should). At the cabin there wasn't enough room to have him by the side of the bed so we put his crib at the foot of the bed. After we got into bed I checked on him once and Shaun told me that I needed to sleep with my head at the foot of the bed. This goes to show I in fact check on Carson more then I should. :) I guess Shaun is one of those people that knows I worry all the time, and he didn't want that effecting his sleep. If anything I guess Shaun knows how much I love Carson and worry about him, and hopefully Carson will know that someday too.
I do the same thing with my kids. I think it is a mom thing. I did get a little better the second time around though. I figure it's better to just check on them instead of laying awake wondering if they're fine and then eventually just checking on them anyways. I think this just shows what a good mom you are!
Jamie if it makes you feel better I still check on Lucy before I go to bed. I worry all the time that she is going to get cold or hot. Or that she will cry and I will hear it. See it's not just you.
That seriously made me tear up! I love you! I think about you guys every day and how happy I am he's with his parents! :D I would be doing the same thing if only... Thank you for being amazing parents!
Jamie, I dont mean to stalk you, but I came across your blog and wanted to say congrats on everything and congrats on the new baby. He is so cute. Carson is one of my favorite boy names!! Hope everything goes well in St. George!!
Shaun and I have been married 6 wonderful years. I have been so lucky to have married such a wonderful guy! We were blessed with our beautiful baby through adoption. He has added so much joy to our little family! I've learned that life doesn't always workout the way you plan, but some how it ends up being better then you could have ever imagined. I am always amazed at how the Lord keeps blessing us everyday. We truly have a wonderful life!
