Families Are Forever

Well, it looks like we will have to wait a while until we can have Carson sealed to us.  We finally got a court date which has been scheduled for February 14th.  We wanted to go to the temple as close to that date as we could.  I called the temple to reserve the following weekend, and when I called the worker informed me that they would be closed from February 15th to February 27th.  I guess it looks like we will have to wait until March to have him sealed to us.  I'm pretty sad about having to wait, it's hard enough to have to wait the 6 months but to add another 2 weeks!  I guess that waiting a little longer will make it that more special, but it's still really hard.  Hopefully the next couple months will go by really fast!

My Birthday

I am officially getting old!  Last week I turned 26!  I know it doesn't seem that bad, but the last couple of years I've been forgetting how old I am.  So...this year it came as a little shock, and of course I was reminded of how old I am by the the cake that had been set on fire.  Over all it was a great birthday, and it has been such an amazing year!  Shaun finished school, and got a great job, and of course we've been blessed with Carson!  Hopefully age 26 will be as wonderful as last year!

Update

For five long months Shaun has been commuting from Cedar to St. George.  During this time we've looked into renting and then moved on to buying something.  We finally found a town home and quickly placed an offer.  A week before we were going to sign Shaun's work asked if he would like to transfer to the Cedar office.  So, now we are no longer moving!  Now we are once again searching for a home, hopefully we will find something soon!  We are excited that we get to stay in Cedar since it's where we wanted to end up in the future.

In October we had a chance to visit our birth mom. This was the first time we got to see her since Carson was born.  We had such a great time with her and her family! They have been so kind to us.  We are truly blessed to have them in our lives.

Carson was a cute little puppy dog for Halloween.  It was a lot of fun taking him around in his costume.  I'm already excited for next year when he will be a little more aware of what's going on.

Carson is now 3 months!  Seriously, where does the time go!  At his 2 month check up he was 12 lbs, 24 in. long and his head was 16 in.  I'm sure he is a lot bigger by now, that boy sure loves to eat!  He is now smiling and has started to laugh and he coos all the time!  We're working on rolling over, but so far he only rolls to one side.  We love our little boy so much!  We can't wait to see what he does next!

Conference Weekend

For conference weekend  we stayed at Shaun's family cabin.  This was our first time sleeping somewhere else since Carson came into our family.  I've always been the type to pack more then I need, now I think I'm ten times worse with a kid!  I guess it's always good to be prepared, even if we could have lasted a week or more on the mountain.  Since we have the newest baby we got to have our own room in the basement!  This was great since I was worried about Carson keeping everyone up at night.  If any of you know me well, you know I worry. I guess that's just who I am, but I think having a baby intensifies it.  At night Carson's bassinet is usually by my side of the bed, that way I can check on him throughout the night (I probably check on him more then I should).  At the cabin there wasn't enough room to have him by the side of the bed so we put his crib at the foot of the bed.  After we got into bed I checked on him once and Shaun told me that I needed to sleep with my head at the foot of the bed.   This goes to show I in fact check on Carson more then I should. :)  I guess Shaun is one of those people that knows I worry all the time, and he didn't want that effecting his sleep.  If anything I guess Shaun knows how much I love Carson and worry about him, and hopefully Carson will know that someday too.

Carson Ryder

I can't stop smiling! I know we had a wonderful life before, but Carson has made life that more amazing. Carson was born on August 7th, and is perfect in every way! We know he was meant to come to our family, just in a different way. We know that Heavenly Father does hear our prayers. We can't believe that things happen by chance. Our experience was so amazing that we know that Heavenly Father was guiding us the whole time. The wait was hard and long but he was worth all the tears we cried.

We will always be grateful to our wonderful birth mom. We can't express how amazing she is! I hope she knows how much we love her! She has blessed us more then she will ever know.

Graduation

Shaun is finally done with school! I can’t believe that he is really done! It seems like a dream. I don't think it will really set in until the Fall. I am so proud of him and for all of his hard work! Now, if you want to see any pictures of him at Graduation, you won't. Shaun did not want to walk, he said walking for his bachelors was good enough. If you know Shaun at all, you know that no one can make Shaun do anything he doesn't want to do, even his mom. So, instead I sent out post cards to his family, he complained a little, but its good for him. :) We also had a BBQ for him, which was a lot of fun. It was good to spend time with family!

Moving

After four years of living in our apartment we have finally moved! During that time we accumulated a lot of stuff! I seriously can't believe all the stuff we had. It made packing a long process, by the end we were so sick of packing we started giving stuff away. At least we won't be looking at any boxes or packing tape anytime soon. It has all gone to a storage unit until we figure out where we will be living in St. George. So, for the time being we are living with my parents. I know you probably think we're crazy, but so far it's been a lot of fun. My parents are really laid back. Most of the time they are so busy with everything it seems like we're the only ones that live there. The only problem I've come across is the theater room. If I can't find Shaun he is most likely in there. That room as become his new T.V. room, I'm a little worried he's going to expect a T.V. that size when we move into our own place!

Country Home

A couple weeks ago I went to the Parade Of Homes, I seriously love looking at all the houses! I thought I'd post a picture of my favorite house. I seriously would have bought it in a heartbeat, but it was sold...oh, and it was $750,000! I can dream, right?

Our Life

We finally started a blog! I know, were way behind the trend! I thought I'd write a little about what's been going on with us these past few years. Somewhere between work, school, and having the time of our lives we've already been married four years! Seriously, where does the time go? As Shaun would say "we're livin the dream". We truly have a wonderful life and wouldn't trade it for anything!

Right now Shaun is finishing up his Masters Degree in accounting. He has been offered a job at an accounting group in St. George. We are so excited to move and start a new adventure! I'm currently working full time being Shaun's "sugar mama" as he would say. My job has been a huge blessing and I'm thankful that I can help with the bills while Shaun finishes his schooling.

Currently Shaun and I are trying to adopt. We are so excited to become parents through adoption! It is such an amazing process! At times it can defiantly be a roller coaster ride, but we're hopeful that we'll find the baby that is meant for our family!

So, that's pretty much a condensed version of our lives in the last four years! We'll see how the whole blog thing goes, hopefully we'll keep it up!
